It is with great pleasure that the entire team at Collection Gervanne + Matthias Leridon welcomes Nathan Bushiru for his residency at the Cité internationale des arts.

This residency, developed with the MEP and the Cité internationale des arts, supports emerging talent in African photography. It aims to support new photographic practices, encourage artist mobility, and offer artists an environment conducive to the development of their work.

During their three-month stay in Paris, the winner will receive special support to further their artistic project, meet other professionals, and expand their network.

Nathan Bushiru is a young photographer born in 1998 in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Lubumbashi, he explores the beauty and complexity of life in Africa through poetic photography that is sensitive to social, historical, and environmental issues. Winner of several international awards, he is also the founder of SEMA, a platform for young photographers to exchange ideas.

During this residency, Nathan aims to develop a project that revisits colonial archives through his unique perspective, bringing the history of Congolese communities back to life. Access to archives, encounters, and exchanges will fuel his creativity and reinforce the critical and sensitive dimension of his work.

An ambitious and meaningful project, supported by the Gervanne + Matthias Leridon Collection.
