“The Infinite Woman” brings together the work of over 60 artists in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, film, collage, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. The exhibition challenges and disrupts traditional representations of women, desire, power and accepted hierarchies between men and women. The works in “The Infinite Woman” invite reflection on femininity, sexuality and gender, exploring female power and the impact of female representation on global cultural attitudes.

Billie Zangewa’s work, delicately crafted from sewn silk, immerses us in the theme of feminine power. She assembles, juxtaposes, reunites and constructs a new mythology, reflecting “The Rebirth of the Black Venus”.

This magnificent nude self-portrait proclaims the absolute freedom acquired by the artist. She shines forth and leads all women, especially black women, along the path to freedom. “The Rebirth of the Black Venus” is an iconic figure symbolizing the power of the artist and thus of all women.
